Stamping Bella Holiday Release Sneak Peek #3!

Hello Crafters! I'm back today with another sneak peek from the upcoming Stamping Bella holiday release! The Design Team doesn't get to see every stamp for the release so I look forward to seeing the release countdowns each day. It's a little like Christmas morning, lol! Today's peek is full of the cutest stamps ever which include Squidgys, those mischievous Chicks and this adorable TINY TOWNIE FRIDA. I also used a sentiment from the HOLIDAY SENTIMENTS set. This is a must have set with tons of great phrases.

When I first saw this stamp, I knew I wanted to put these two in a snowy scene. What better way to do that then to create a shaker card! I stamped and colored the image using my Copic markers. I added some details to the snowman's scarf using a white gel pen and sparkles to her skirt with my Wink of Stella clear glitter pen.

Next I focused on creating my shaker window. I started by trimming down the image piece to just smaller than an A2 size card. I then die cut a piece of striped paper using a stitched frame die from MFT. I trimmed down a piece of acetate to fit within the frame and adhered it using a tape runner. I then cut foam tape into small strips to fit just within the frame size. I doubled it up so that my shaker bits would really shake around. I loaded up the window with Stampendous Shaved Ice glitter. It's a bit more iridescent than I was expecting but it seemed to match the colors pretty good. I adhered the image panel to the back of the frame sandwiching the glitter and completing my shaker piece.

I adhered the entire shaker piece to a green card base. For the sentiment, I stamped "warm wishes" onto red card stock and then used a Lawn Fawn Fancy Folded Banner die to create this neat pop-up 3-D banner. Here's a closer look at the card:

Copic Colors: Snowman - B0000, B000, BV000, 0, G19, G14, G05, T7, T5, T3, R29, R24, R27, YR18, YR15, YR12;
Girl - E000, E00, E02, R20, E57, E13, E34, E31, R85, R83, R81, YG25, YG23, YG21, Y17, T5, T3, BG11, BG13, BG15

Stamping Bella Holiday Release Sneak Peek #2!

Hi Crafters! Today I have not one, not two, not three but FOUR sneak peeks to share with you. Warning: This is a heavy photo blog post! The stamp sets that I'll be sharing today are the FIREPLACE BACKDROP, LITTLE BITS: SANTA’S MANTLE, LITTLE BITS Santa kids and PETS, and LITTLES-GINGERBREAD GIRL. Let me tell you, the Little Bit collections and backdrops are so much fun to play with. The combinations are endless and I truly enjoy creating fun little scenes. First up is a card that uses three of sets and allows you to peek into the scene before opening the card. It's a fun surprise for the recipient.

I started by coloring the fireplace scene with Copic markers. This was not a quick color, lol! I think it took me about an hour to complete. I tried to focus on the little details like the wood plank floor, texture in the carpet, and the personalize photos on the wall. Next I stamped all of the individual elements and colored and fussy cut each one. I didn't want a white border because it needed to blend in seamlessly with the background. In case you didn't do the perfect cut, be sure to run a black marker around the edges. This helps make the images look like you are an expert cutter!

I wanted to give the fuzzy parts of the stockings and the hats some texture so I pulled out my Snow pen. This was one of my favorite purchases from last year. You color on the marker and then use your heat tool to puff it up. You think watching embossing powder set is magical, then you HAVE to try this pen! It's truly spectacular, lol!

After coloring and adhering the inside of the card, I turned my focus to the front. I cut a top folding A2 size card base from 110lb white card stock. I then grabbed a brick wall stencil and taped it down to my craft sheet. I pulled out several different brownish red Copics and decided to use my Copic airbrush machine to create the look of old bricks. I really love how this turned out! Next, I grabbed a window die and positioned it so that when you looked inside you would see parts of the scene. I ran the card through my die cut machine but made sure to open it up so it didn't cut straight through the back of the card. The window die came with some accessories such as shutters so I decided to use them all to create a three dimensional element. I adhered everything into to place including the inside piece and of course couldn't resist adding stickles and glossy accents to a few areas.

Here are some better looks at all of the little details:

 Copic Colors: Garland - G85, G43, G46, R89, R39, R32, R35; Wall - E19, E09, E27

Copic Colors: Fireplace - E19, E09, E13, E55, E53, W7, W6, W5, W4, W2; Mantle - E29, E31, E34, W5, W4;
Fire - YR09, YR04, Y19, Y13, Y15;  Logs - E47, E44, E34, E30; Rug - R37, R35, R39, G46, G46, G40;
Floor - E37, E33, E31, W2; Wall - E53, E51, E50; Frames - Y28, Y26, Y23;
Cat - YR27, YR24, YR21, YR23; Dog - T7, T5, T3; Hats - R39; R37; R35

Next up was a super simple card made with the LITTLE BITS SANTA KIDS AND PETS set. These little kids are so adorable! I colored them up with my Copics and then used a double stitched oval die to cut them out. I recently bought a jar of WOW! White Puff embossing Powder and decided to try it on their hats. This powder has larger granules than your standard embossing powder so you have to heat set it first from the back so you don't blow it off your image. I applied versamark ink by using a versamark pen. I did have to do two coats of the puff powder to ensure full coverage. I don't hate the look but I definitely like the look of the snow marker better. I think the puff powder would look great sprinkled on trees in a nature scene, something where you don't need full coverage.

I chose a pretty blue cardstock and used a scalloped oval die to create a mat for the kids. For the background, I cut a piece of holiday patterned paper down to size and matted it with the same blue cardstock. I wanted  texture so I grabbed a coordinating ruched blue ribbon and wrapped it around the back panel before adhering it to my card base. I popped up the oval panel on the center of the ribbon. For the finishing touch, I add a little enamel heart in between the kids. Here's a closer look at the puff powder and other details:

Copic Colors: Skin - E00, E000, E02; Girl Hair - Y28, Y26, Y23, Y21; Boy Hair - E57, E33, E35;
Girl Clothes - RV17, RV14, RV13; Boy Clothes - B04, B06, B01, BG11, BG13, BG15

For today's last card, I used the LITTLES-GINGERBREAD GIRL stamp. What is neat about the Littles line is that the images are already put together for you. Easy peasy! You can build this same scene using the LITTLE BITS SANTA KIDS AND PETS set as well as the LITTLE BITS ELF set which will be shown later this week. But if you don't have the time or patience for masking, I definitely recommend using the pre-made Littles sets.

After coloring up the image, I pulled out the snow marker again and created that awesome fluffy look on the hats and the dress. Next, I cut the image out leaving a small white border all around it. Now, if you don't have the time or patience for fussy cutting, almost all of these Littles and Little Bit images have coordinating Cut it Out Dies. Emily AKA Stamping Bella really thinks of everything!

Next I focused on my background. I decided to create a snow globe shaker card by using a arch die and free cutting a base. I backed the globe portion with fun patterned paper and filled the shaker window with a mix of seed beads, sequins, star, confetti and snowflakes. Before adhering the snow globe base which I cut from foil paper, I tied a piece of twine around it to give it a little something extra. I then popped that up right on the edge of the window.

I adhered the image under the popped up base making sure it was center in the globe. For the sentiment, I die cut the word merry from red cardstock and the heat embossed Christmas in white onto a piece of black cardstock. I trimmed this down and then applied both of the words to the top of the card. Here's a better look at the card and all of the dimension and texture. I just love it!

Copic Colors: Skin - E02, E00, E000; Hair - E29, E25, E31; Dress & Hat - R29, R17, R14, T5, T3;
Cat - YR27, YR24, YR23, YR21; Cookie - E95, E93, E97, E99, W5, W2, W1;
Candy - YG17, YG25, YG21, YG23, R29, R17, R14, BG0000, BG01

Stamping Bella Release Preview - Day 1!

Hello Crafters! Guess what time it is...It's Stamping Bella New Release Week! All week the Design Team will be counting down and sharing inspiration for the new release images. This release is full of gorgeous Fall and Halloween images that will all be available for purchase on Monday, September 4th in the Stamping Bella online store.

For today's sneak peek, I get to share some of the new Little "Bits" stamps. What you ask are Little "Bits?" Here's the perfect explanation from Stamping Bella herself:
"First thing I would like to talk about is the NEW differentiation between our LITTLES and our LITTLE “BITS”.  After the success of our  last release with the introduction of our new “LITTLES” collection (which will now be called “LITTLE BITS”, we have decided to introduce our LITTLES collection.  Ok.. so basically the LITTLES collection means that the images are COMPLETE.. it’s a “SCENE” ready to stamp and create.  Our LITTLE BITS are our  sets including “bits” or pieces for you to create your own scene/image.  Little “BITS” can be combined.. even our LITTLES can be combined with our “BITS” too!   CLEAR AS MUD? LOL."
So with that in mind, I get to share the LITTLE BITS FALL FRUIT collection. Isn't that little hedgehog just the cutest?? This set also includes an adorable little girl all ready for fun fall activities!

I colored the image using my Copic markers and then fussy cut around them leaving a small white border. The good news is all of the Little Bits have coordinating CUT IT OUT dies that you can purchase separately or in a bundle for a great deal! I decided to create a fun shaker window to back my scene using a arch die cut from MFT. I filled it with red, green and gold sequins and seed beads. I always try to incorporate seed beads into my shaker cards because they make the best noise! The sentiment is from another new set which will be highlighted later this week.

Click below to check out the Stamping Bella blog where everyday this week there will be more sneak peeks leading up to the big release on Monday, September 4th! I'll be back tomorrow with another sneak peek for you! So excited so share!

Bellarific Friday - Mojo Bella Sketch Challenge

Hello Crafters! It's another Bellarific Friday (on Saturday) for you today! This week's challenge was a fantastic MojoBella sketch below. When I saw the sketch I knew I wanted to create a shaker window for the center circle.  I also wanted to finally use the adorable UNICORN SENTIMENT SET. For anyone who knows me, they know that unicorns are my spirit animal. I believe I own every type of unicorn stamp set out there and this one is one of my favs!

Here's a peek at what the card looks like all shook up!

To start my card, I stamped the Unicorn in Simon Says Stamp Intense Black ink onto a piece of X-Press It blending card. I then grabbed some Copic markers and did some very simple coloring. I selected my colors by matching them to a new paper pack I bought from Echo Park called Perfect Princess. After the image was colored, I fussy cut around it leaving a narrow white outline. Save yourself from doing this by getting the coordinating "Cut It Out" die for this image! Here are the Copic colors I used for the little unicorn:

Next, I started constructing my shaker circle. I taped together two stitched circle dies to create the frame and cut it from a piece of coordinating purple cardstock. I then used the larger of the two circle dies to cut a piece of acetate and my backer piece. I adhered the acetate circle onto the back of the purple frame. I then grabbed my roll of foam tape and applied two layers of foam to the back to create the shaker well. I selected various iridescent sequins and confetti and sprinkled them in the well. Once I was happy with the amount, I adhered the patterned backer piece to seal the shaker window. I wanted to add a little more sparkle to the window so I die cut a neat star frame from a piece of silver glitter paper and adhered it to the front of the purple frame.

I next focused on my card background. To match the sketch, I selected two papers from the Echo Park Perfect Princess pack, trimmed them down to size and adhered them to my A2 card base. I then adhered my shaker window to the base. I noticed I didn't really have the best location for my little unicorn, so I decided to cut some clouds and arranged them so that my unicorn would have a better place to stand. I glued some of the clouds flat and popped up some with foam tape. I really like how this addition made the card come to life.

I knew I wanted to use this great sentiment and I played around with placement but ultimately I thought it would fit perfectly on the cloud. Since I had already adhered the cloud into place and I didn't want to risk messing up the stamping, I decided to stamp it onto a piece of vellum and then adhere that on top of the cloud. I stamped it in versamark clear ink and used silver embossing powder to create the shiny look. It matched perfectly with the other silverish accents I used on the card.

Now what's a unicorn without a little sparkle? For the finishing touches, I applied Stickles to her mane and tail, coated her entire body with Spectrum Noir clear sparkle and added glossy accents to her horn. I also scattered some star sequins to the clouds just to add that final magic touch. Here's a closer look at all of the sparkle and shine:

Happy May Crafters! This year is just flying by! A new month brings a new Stamp of the Month over at Stamping Bella. This month's stamp is a beautiful one called MASON JAR OF FLOWERS and it's 20% off all month long! The coordinating Cut It Out die is also available and remember if you bundle them you can save more! Click the link below for more information.

This week's challenge was "free form." When I first saw this stamp I knew I wanted to make it into a shaker card. I stamped the image onto a piece of Canson XL watercolor paper using versamark ink and then heat embossed it with ultra fine silver embossing powder. I loved working with my Tombow Dual Brush Pens on last week's card so I decided I pull the out again. I applied them directly to the paper then used a slightly damp paintbrush to pull the color out. I just love how blendable these pens are and how you can keep adding color. After coloring the entire image, I stamped and embossed it a second time and colored just the area that would be seen through the shaker window.

I wanted to add a little bit more detail to the piece so I grabbed a stitched rectangle die and cut the image down to size. Next was time to create my window. I used an Exacto knife to carefully cut out the inside of the jar and around the little bit of ribbon. Let me tell you this was a challenge, but so worth the time! I adhered a piece of acetate to the back of the window and then built up the shaker area with a double layer of foam tape. I selected some clear, iridescent and blue sequins to fill the window and carefully adhered the colored image inside piece so that it lined up seamlessly.

For the card base, I grabbed a pretty piece of script paper and then glued a small strip of pink along the right hand side. I added my shaker piece to the card and because the window was already popped up it had some nice dimension. For the sentiment, I stamped it onto a coordinating piece of teal card stock and adhered it to the card. Lastly,  I added some beautiful Vintage Sheer sequins from Studio Katia around the image and I also had to use a bit of Spectrum Noir clear sparkle pen to the flowers for a little bit more shimmer.

Here's a closer look at the card:

Bellarific Friday - Photo & Color Inspiration Challenge

Happy Friday Crafters! I hope everyone has had a great week and looking forward to a nice weekend. Today I'm sharing my card for this week's Bellarific Friday Challenge which was to use inspiration from the following photo and color swatches. I immediately knew I wanted to use the TINY TOWNIE RACHEL LOVES THE RAIN stamp.

For this card I decided to do a bit of water coloring. I recently picked up an entire set of Tombow Dual Brush Pens and I was inspired after watching some amazing videos from Amy Rysavy using them. By the way, if you have never checked out her blog Prairie Paper & Ink or her YouTube channel you have to. She's hilarious, relatable and makes gorgeous cards!

I cut a piece of Canson XL watercolor paper down to an A2 size and then heat embossed the image using Versafine Onyx black ink and clear embossing powder. For marker water coloring, I typically scribble the marker onto a laminated piece of white card stock and pick it up my paintbrush, but I went bold and applied the marker directly to my image. (I probably wouldn't have done this if I didn't watch Amy have such success in it, lol!) But to my amazement these markers work brilliantly with water. I colored them into the areas I wanted shadows and then used my lightly damp paintbrush to draw the water out. I think you have to be careful with the amount of water as some of these pens are highly pigmented. I definitely want to play around with them some more. After coloring the entire image I fussy cut around it leaving a base at the bottom that was the same width of a A2 size card.

I knew I wanted to create a rain shaker so I started with another piece of the Canson XL watercolor paper cut to an A2 size and used a rectangle die to cut out a thin border. I then adhered a piece of acetate to the border to create my window. I cut thin strips of foam tape and doubled them up around this border piece to create my area to hold the shaker bits. I also added foam tape behind the image to give it more stability. I would always recommend this for large shaker windows.

Next I focused on the background. Since the watercolor paper isn't bright white, I decided to forgo my standard white card base and just cut a top folding card from the Canson XL watercolor paper. It's heavy weight and perfect for card bases. This also meant that I could create my background right on my card base skipping a step and simplifying it. I'm all about that!

Another recent purchase I got was the Tim Holtz Distress Oxide inks. I'm absolutely loving their smooth chalky texture and knew I wanted to create the stormy sky using them. I smooshed the two blue inks onto my glass work surface and spritzed them with water. I then used a wide brush to give the background a water wash. I next picked up the colors using even strokes to create a nice stormy sky look. Because I'm impatient, I used my heat tool to dry it completely between washes. Next I created ink splatters using the two blues and heat set them as well. Lastly I grabbed my Distress sprayer and left water droplets all over the piece. I let them sit for about 15 seconds and then picked up the access water with a paper towel. This created a nice matte distressed sky background.

Since it's such a larger shaker window I decided to adhere some dew drops to my background so that when the card it held upright you still see some sparkle behind the image. Just remember to do this before adhering your shaker frame! (Ask me how I know...) Once those were in place, I filled my window with sparkling clear sequins, seed beads, little diamonds from Honey Bee Stamps, and iridescent confetti. I carefully adhered my shaker frame and then gave it a good shake to make sure everything was secure. That's my favorite part of creating shaker cards!

I wasn't loving the plain white frame I had originally so I cut out another frame from a piece of rainbow plaid paper and adhered that on top. This truly brought everything together and helped it better match the inspiration photo. I added Stickles, Glossy Accents, Wink of Stella and some dots to her top using a white gel pen.

Here's a close up of the background and the bits inside:

There is a great sentiment that comes with this stamp but with the way I positioned the image I was not going to have enough room for it in it's entirety. So I grabbed my scissors and cut it up! (I know some of you are cringing but I swear the stamp is okay!) I stamped the "when skies are grey" portion with versafine black ink onto a piece of coordinating purple paper and heat set it with clear embossing powder. I also used a black versafine marker to add three little dots to the end of the sentiment and heat embossed them too. This way everything matched. I decided to cut the sentiment into two strips and positioned them behind the little girl. I really liked how this looked and I thought it helped tie in more of the purple color.

Next, I stamped the first part of the sentiment on the inside of my card heat embossing it as well. Since my card base was watercolor paper I decided to focus on the "sunshine" and create a little sun around the image. I used Distress Oxide ink for this so that it matched the look of the front of the card. Don't be afraid to mix up your sentiments. I try not to get stuck with a sentiment size. I make it work for me instead of working around it. You'll be surprised on what you come up with if you think "outside the sentiment." Here's a peek at the inside of the card:

I was super inspired by this inspiration image and the rest of the Bellas were too! Be sure to check out the Stamping Bella blog and see what amazing cards the rest of the Design Team created. Bellarific Friday - Friendship Challenge

Happy Bellarific Friday! (Or Sunday, lol!) It's been a crazy week at work so I finally have a few quiet moments to upload my card for this week's challenge. The theme was FRIENDSHIP and I knew just what stamp I wanted to use...

When I first saw this stamp CLOSEUPS "CLINK" I felt it was begging to be a shaker card. I started by coloring the image with Copics. Once that was complete, I used an exacto knife to carefully cut out the portion of the glasses where the liquid was and then backed that area with a piece of acetate to create my shaker windows. I next grabbed some foam tape and built up my shaker areas. I used a double layer of foam tape since I knew I was using seed beads and those shake better with a bit more room.

One of my favorite adult beverages is a Moscato Wine Spritzer so that's what I chose to recreate. I used a peachy yellow color in the background of the shaker window and covered it in the beautiful Pink Champagne Spectrum Noir Sparkle pen. It's so sparkly in person and when I added the seed beads it looked just like the refreshing spritzer!

For the rest of the card, I chose some pretty teal papers and created two frames around my shaker window. I heat embossed the sentiment in white and adhered it to the top of frame. For my finishing touches, I added glossy accents & Spectrum Noir clear sparkle to some of jewelry. I then used Nuvo Jewel Drops in Grey Mist on the bracelets to make them look a bit more like sterling silver. I'm loving the new jewel drops because they dry translucent with just a hint of color. If you haven't tried them, I highly recommend them!

Hop over to the Stamping Bella blog and see what the rest of the BellaBabes created using the theme of "Friendship." Also, if you would like to participate in Bellariffic Fridays for a chance to be entered into a monthly drawing to win some Bella Bucks click on the link below for more details.

Bellarific Friday - Photo Challenge

Hello Crafters! This week's Bellarific Friday challenge was a fun and festive photo featuring a gorgeous Christmas tree. When I saw it, I knew I wanted to use the UPTOWN GIRL SAVANNAH HAS A STAR. This girl is so much fun and I just know it would be a blast to go to a Christmas party with her! Because the photo was full of non-traditional colors, I knew I could have some fun with her "dress" and load it up with all sorts of baubles and sparkles.

I knew from the start I wanted to make a shaker card. My challenge was not having her covered with shaker bits so I decided to make the shaker more of a background so that glitter and sparkles would just fall all around her. To begin, I grabbed my go to Copic coloring supplies - Simon Says Stamp Intense Black Ink and white X-Press It paper. I chose colors that were featured in the photo and for the green of her dress I went with a more limey green than a traditional evergreen.

Here are the colors that I chose:

I wanted to make her sash and headband sparkly so I decided to do a little paper piercing with piece of silver glitter paper. I stamp the image with Staz-On black ink because ink on glitter paper tends to stay wet longer and I needed something more permanent. I fussy cut the two items out and glued them onto the image. Speaking of fussy cutting, I had this grand idea to fussy cut her out and let me tell you that took me some time. I didn't realize when I started just how delicate the image would be.

Next I crafted the shaker window. I used a square scalloped frame from a new Mama Elephant die set. I then cut the acetate window to fit into the frame. I usually use fun foam when I create a well for the shaker bits especially if it's behind a delicate frame like this one. But since I seemed to want to do everything the hard way with this card, I decided to go with foam tape which I doubled up and cut into very slim pieces. Once that was done, I chose some silver and sparkling clear sequins and stars to fill the window.

The backing paper was a fun pink and red polka piece that really made Savannah pop. I adhered it all together and then glued the image into place behind the little scalloped edge on the bottom of the frame. For the background, I decided to mat the shaker frame with some of that same silver glitter paper I had used earlier and a piece of light and dark green striped paper. I adhered all of this 4 3/4" square white card base.

For the finishing touches, I heat embossed a sentiment in white onto a piece of red cardstock. I adhered it on an angle so that it looked a bit like a present. Also, I added a lot of little touches to her dress including sequins, star confetti, stickles, spectrum noir clear sparkle pen and glossy accents. Here's a close up of the sparkle and shine. I just loved how she turned out!

Hop over to the Stamping Bella blog and see what the rest of the Design Team created. This challenge really got us all in the holiday spirit! Bellarific Friday - Fall Photo Challenge

Happy Friday Crafters! It's been one heck of a week and I'm a tiny bit late on getting this post up today! I'm so glad it's the weekend and looking forward to a fun girls shopping trip with my Mom & Aunt. It's Bellarific Friday over on the Stamping Bella blog and I loved today's challenge because it was inspired by this photo:

I LOVE fall! I only wish we had more of it in Florida. It was 87 degrees today with  90% humidity so I enjoy making autumn cards that make me think of cooler weather, lol! For my card, I used the precious Tiny Townie Fay Loves Fall stamp and decided to make a fun little shaker card with falling leaves.

To start, I used my Copics to color the cute little Fay. I chose some non-traditional fall colors, but I think they work really well together. I used stickles and glossy accents on her buttons, flower bow, and the apples to give them a bit of shine.  Here's a close up of some of details:

Once the image was complete, I focused on creating the shaker window. I first cut out a scalloped frame using some really neat "wood" paper. It feels just like a thin sheet of wood and it die cuts like butter! It also has an adhesive back so it made it easy to stick the acetate on. I then cut a piece of fun foam with the same scalloped frame die to create my border to allow the sequins to shake around. I chose some really neat iridescent fall leaves for my shaker bits and decided to just put in a few so that it didn't overwhelm the image.  Once my window was complete, I backed the entire piece with pattered paper that coordinated with the mustard color in my image. For the sentiment, I heat embossed it onto some blue cardstock using gold embossing powder. I cut a little slanted banner on the edge and adhered it to the front of the shaker window.

I hope you enjoyed this challenge and be sure to pop over to the Stamping Bella blog to see what all of the other Bellas have created. Their amazing autumn creations make me so happy! Did I mention I LOVE fall?? Also, if you would like to participate in Bellariffic Fridays for a chance to be entered into a monthly drawing to win some Bella Bucks click on the link below for more details.

Next week's Bellariffic Friday challenge is a free form challenge. That means anything goes, no limits! It would be a great opportunity for a someone who is intimated by guidelines. I would love to see you all participate! Have a wonderful weekend and I'll see you again soon!

Just a Note Card - Color Throwdown #408

Happy Monday! I'm excited to share a card that I created after being inspired by the current Color Throwdown Challenge which called out primary colors of red, blue, green and yellow. I was dying to use this shaker die from Papertrey Ink and this was the perfect challenge to bring it out.

I really enjoy using these shaker dies because they make the process so easy! I started by grabbing some polka dot cardstock in red, yellow, gray, khaki and black. I die cut the various parts of the pencil and then began adhering them all together. Once that was complete, I grabbed some acetate for the window and some fun foam to create the shaker container. Once I had assembled those pieces I filled the two separate windows with red & yellow sequins and seed beads and then adhered the backer piece to keep everything contained.

For the card background, I used blue patterned paper adhered to a 5"x5" card base. I then used a notebook die to die cut a little piece of patterned notebook paper and backed that with a piece of chevron paper in primary colors. This is a direct inspiration from the Color Throwdown photo. I stamped and heat embossed the sentiment onto the notebook page. I also die cut the scribble to put underneath the pencil. Lastly, I needed a few little embellishments so I grabbed some enamel dots and stars from my stash to finish off the design.

Here's a closer look at the card and all the fun little details!

I really love how this turned out and I think it would be a perfect Teacher card. I hope you enjoyed my card for today and be sure to pop over the the Color Throwdown Challenge to check out all of the creative and fun designs that everyone did. It's always so inspiring!
