Pretty Pink Posh Sequin Shaker Blog Hop

I'm so excited to be participating in my first blog hop! I recently discovered the Pretty Pink Posh Blog. I too have become obsessed with sequins so when I saw an opportunity to learn how to make a new type of card and incorporate sequins, I knew this was the perfect first blog hop for me!

The first thought that popped into my head was under the sea and how when the light hits just right everything is sparkly! With that inspiration I created this super fun card:

First I created a little ocean scene with my stamps, I used colored pencils blended with gamsol and then finished it off with some Stickles. For the port hole, I used two circle dies to create a ring and accented it with some little silver sticker brads. I chose a variety of blue and iridescent sequins to fill my shaker and then meticulously trimmed foam tape in the shape of a circle. I don't know why I chose a circle for my first shaker. I have a sneaking suspicion a square would have been easier!

To complete the front of the card, I ran some navy card stock through my Cuttlebug to emboss the little anchors and then added a fun little sentiment. It was hard to not add twine or something else but I really wanted the shaker to be the star. Lastly, I completed the inside of the card carrying over the nautical theme. I had so much fun making this card and I'm looking forward to trying it again with different themes.

Thank you for checking out very first blog hop entry! I hope many more are to come! Be sure to check out all of the other fantastic entries. Until next time!
