Happy Wednesday! I just returned from vacation in Northern Illinois where I got lots of fall inspiration. I'm a Florida girl so it's the first time I was able to see leaves change, visit a pumpkin patch and do a corn maze! Fall has always been my favorite time of year so it was great to actually get to experience the season the way it should be. That inspiration translated perfectly into the Simon Say Stamp Wednesday Challenge. Here's my card:
I just love those crazy birds! I recently got the crazy things set and was so excited to put them to use. I stamped and masked my little bird onto some Tim Holtz watercolor paper which I had cut with a stitched rectangle die first. I then broke out my Zig Clean Color Real Brush pens and got to work. I just love the vibrancy of those pens. It makes everything pop! I used some distress inks for the background since they are more subtle and I find them easier to use when doing large spaces. I wanted the bird to be holding the broom so I used an exacto knife to cut little lines in her wing and very carefully slide the handle through. For the pumpkin, I popped him up with some foam squares and added some stickles to his eyes, nose and mouth. My finishing touches were a spider brad that I've had forever and some googly eyes to really complete the "crazy bird" look. The whole piece was then mounted on some Halloween paper from my stash and a black top folding card base. Be sure to check out the other fabulous creations on the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge Blog. Always great inspiration on their blog.
Lastly, I wanted to share some photos from my trip that I will defintely be using as inspiration for future cards! So beautiful up there! Have a great day and until next time!
